Forgot to blog Friday.... Presented my thesis (THANK YOU KENDALL!!!) and went to 8th period JROTC's party. A good end to a good year.

Helped the PTA ladies set up the Holiday Sale, helped Ms.Johnson get paper from the storeroom and take it to the Teachers Lounge.

Today, I helped again in the office with the Christmas lights with Tony and Manny. I have also gathered all the information I need to send to UT Austin and I am waiting to submit it to Mr.Villa for mailing. I am also seeking a nomination for the Mavs Co-Captain program. Also learning new guitar song, "Tender Surrender" by Steve Vai. Overall, a fun, but productive day.

I got an envelope to send off my fee waiver and resume and I turned in Music Theory homework. I also helped put up Christmas lights in the office. A productive day in thesis.

Today, I wasn't in the classroom, but I did get a very big task accomplished. I took part in a mentorship program to Thomas C. Marsh Middle School from Townview JROTC, informing Marsh's cadets on the highlights and benefits of Townview. Their program is very elaborate, and it is easy to see how they rank so highly on the national level. Their instructor, CPL David Bates, is a fun, caring person whose every move is to the benefit of his cadets. He made the process very smooth, and facilitated a comfortable relationship between our battalion staff and the cadets. We also created the beginnings of application portfolios to help the students keep track of all the information they have produced, or are lacking. The counselors and principals are also actively involved in the process, making sure the cadets are aware of and pursue every opportunity available to them. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience, and I look forward to a healthy, constructive partnership with the Marsh Leadership Cadet Corps.

Finishing University of Texas and scholarship application, waiting on rec. letters. Starting on letter to guitarist Steve Vai for (probably impossible) mentorship, or at least advice.

Received status update on nomination application to Congressman Sam Johnson, added resume to goBaylor account, updated ApplyTexas UT scholarship application (need final review before submission), submitted scholarship offers.

Today I  confirmed the order of my academy preference and worked on Dell Scholars app. I also resubmitted recommendation requests.

• USAFA- all that's left is the rest of my essays and DoDMERB approval
• USMA- need one more essay and the interview
• USNA- need to finish essays and DoDMERB approval
• Harvard- record arts supplement and submit normal supplement
• Yale- record arts supplement and submit normal supplement
• Columbia- arts supplement and normal supplement
• Princeton- arts supplement and normal supplement
• SMU- complete
• Baylor- complete
• MIT- just started

Also, I have been searching for more scholarship opportunities and fine tuning my standard essay.

Today I sorted through my college mail for Mr.C.'s college info wall and I updated ALL of my future plans for ALL of my Common App schools. Also was able to convert my resume to a PDF. COOL!!

8th day: 9/16/11

Today I filled out my packet for Jostens graduation gear. I also worked on my essay for National Achievement, and watched a rap parody by Supa Hot Fire (got to be honest...). I was able to do the VIP SMU application through Common App, but its still not done: I need my extracurricular experience essay.

7th day: 9/12/11

Today I updated my National Achievement profile and my Common App file. I started on my NMSC essay and worked on my etude for Jazz Band.

6th day: 9/8/11

Today I updated my Common App profile, now all I have left is the extracurricular experience writing. I also checked the status of my Air Force and West Point candidate files. I worked on Sir Duke for Jazz Band, and got tabs for Stairway to Heaven. I also talked to Mr.Villa about SAT/ACT fee waivers.

5th day: 9/6/11

Today I started on my National Achievement Scholarship application(TBA: 9/28/11), and I opened my Apply Texas profile for Baylor and UT. Also found more information on my congressman's Academy Day for the service academies.

4th day: 8/31/11

Reported missing AP score to College Board, updated resume, and checked the status of U.S. Service Academy candidate files.

2nd day: 8/26/11

Completed TAG Senior Survey and submitted along with resume to Mr.Villa. Checked on the status of Air Force, Naval, and West Point candidate files.

1st day: 8/24/11

Class discussion on the Common Application, talked about college recommendation procedure, established proper decorum for requests. Made this blog.
